High Street Planning Application 2012/0421

Re: Planning Application 2012/0421 - Land behind the High Street and Church Street.

Another planning application has been received by the EBC Planning Department for the land behind the High Street and Church Street.

Whilst the latest application, architecturally, is better than the last there is still a long way to go before we have a development which would meet our minimum standards. Thus we shall be objecting on the following grounds and we urgently ask you to review this application and consider whether to lodge an objection as well, as the developer would love to wear us all down.

  • Density.
  • Lack of communal area - thus dangerous because of non-resident traffic parking on easterly side by the shop owners.
  • Refuse collection.
  • Inadequate access/egress to the site at both Church Street and the High Street, particularly for commercial vehicles and the emergency services.
  • View from Longboyds. It is important to stress that the Longboyds development should not be overlooked or affected from this proposed development.

Please note that your objection should be submitted by the 9th April 2012, and if by email please ensure you give your postal address, otherwise your objection will be ignored.

There are some further details on how you can object on our Registering Your Objection page including the email and postal addresses to send your objection to. Click here for more details.

Thank you for considering this.
