Proposed Free Secondary School on Green Belt Land

Another threat to our Green Belt is the proposed new Free Secondary School to be constructed on Green Belt land owned by Burhill Park Estates, together with hundreds of houses (exact number not known), no doubt to finance the construction of the school and provide a return to Burhill.

This proposed development, we believe of some 60 acres and of a similar size to the motorway service station, will be near Elveden Road off the Fairmile, Portsmouth Road and on the Cobham side of the Fairmile Hotel. The developers, Cala Homes, are holding a consultation for the public on Thursday the 28th Nov 2013 between 12 noon and 8pm at the Gospel Hall at 115a Anyards Road, Cobham KT11 2LJ. We would advise all those interested, both for and against to go along and see their proposals. For more details visit www.cala.co.uk/cobham

Although all Green Belt development is abhorrent to us, we are still in the information gathering stage. We will publish further details once we have had an opportunity to see the proposals ourselves.

Please go along to the public consultation if you can on Thursday afternoon and see for yourself how these plans could affect your local environment.
