Born in Cobham and playing member of Cobham Cricket Club and the Avorians Sports Club before the war. Killed when H.M.S. Hythe was escorting convoy MKS-27 from Alexandria to Gibraltar, the ship torpedoed and sunk by submarine U-371 north of Bougie, Algeria with the loss of 62 of the 82 crew.
