Bomber pilot, flew eight operations in May 1944, during preparations for D-Day. Killed the following month flying Lancaster ND981 whilst practising formation flying. As the formation of 6 aircraft approached Crowland one began to bounce, apparently caught in the slipstream of the leading aircraft, sailed upwards and plunged on to ND981.
