Attended Cobham Central School. Played cricket for Cobham and for Surrey Colts, and was expected to play for Surrey. Joined the R.A.F. in 1942. Killed flying as navigator in Wellington X HE832, during a training exercise. The aircraft struck high ground at 670ft. near Nettlebed, Oxfordshire after descending through cloud.
