Joined the territorials before the war, mobilised in 1939, went to France with the B.E.F. and was evacuated from Dunkirk. Landed in North Africa with the 1st East Surreys, on 8th November, 1942 near Algiers, for Operation Torch. Killed during the Battle of Tebourba, west of Tunis.
