Additional Information:Son of Alfred and Edith Maud Ashcroft, of Cobham, Surrey.
Joined the R.A.F. in 1939, trained as a navigator and flew for two years with distinguished pilot Edward Wolfe. Died when his plane crashed near Linter in Belgium, returning from an intruder mission over France in Mosquito XIX MM678. A memorial plaque at the church in Linter was unveiled in 2014.
